The Global Black Coalition has started to relocate community members in Portugal.

As of today, April 15, 2022, the Global Black Coalition has started to relocated some community members in Portugal, seeing how difficult the countries in which they were treated them.

Since the beginning of the war, many community members are struggling with being accepted and welcomed in many European countries. While white people are welcomed with arms wide opened, many Black people have reported being denied an equal access to safety and being considered refugees.

As we previously reported, in some countries, many members have had their passports as well as their national Ukrainian IDs seized while they await a decision that may be unfavorable. This has brought a lot of stress to many community members. This week alone, we received more request to access a mental health specialist than we ever had before.

We plead again that European countries treat our people fairly and grant them access to their country.

Everyone deserves an equal access to safety!
