COMBATTING HUMAN TRAFFICKING &SUPPORTING COMMUNITY MEMBERS VICTIMS OF SEXUAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ABUSE

For the past months, we have referred 27 cases of community members who have been victims of sexual and psychological abuse to mental health specialists.

Unfortunately some community members were sexually harassed, abused and psychologically abused while seeking refuge. Some of them were picked up at the borders by people whom they thought would genuinely help them, while others were "welcomed" into homes across Europe of people who had the sole intention of abusing them.

While some have been able to escape and obtain the support that they need, it is our fear that more people are currently going through this.

Last week, another community members was able to escape a home in which they were forced to perform sexual acts on the person who housed them.

Our team is currently supporting this individual as well as others who were referred to us.

If you know anyone who needs support please refer them to us.
